The camel racing is generally held in the Australian winter which is Jun-August, Karla. In the Outback it’s still quite warm at that time of the year, but the temperatures are very pleasant.
]]>The Outback is very different to Paris, Elisa – but like Paris, there is too much to see and do for just one trip 😀 Hope you get downunder again one day, and in the meantime, try these hikes: https://www.redzaustralia.com/2017/08/10-half-day-hikes-in-hot-australian-holiday-spots/
]]>Tailor your preparation to the actual road trip you want to do Jen – but taking precautions is just part of travelling in a country with a large geographic area and relatively small population! It IS possible to travel without a 4WD, it just depends where you want to go – although opal is always a drawcard 😀
]]>I recently read about Vietnam, Long – and was also surprised at how big it was. Now I want to see your pink sand dune – it sounds beautiful!! The wind in Australia also changes the patterns on the dunes – I would love to compare it with your dunes one day 😀
]]>I’ve been to Lake Cargelligo, Anna!! I’m yet to find anything to beat the RED at Windorah – closest is Karijini NP (WA) which is beyond red, but it’s a darker red that doesn’t hurt your eyes!! And what’s 13 hours on the road downunder? It’s a Sunday drive, that’s all 😀
]]>Yep, we’ve got it all down here, Carol!
]]>In Vietnam we also have a pink sand dune and the winds move hilld back and forth everyday, making the landscapes changed with amazing shapes. Do you have that in Windorah? The pink color here does not impacts the eyes and it is great because it locates by the beautiful beaches wth lovey resorts. Hope to welcome you one day to compare.
